YUKON 4x4 WILDERNESS
ADVENTURE
$180 Per Person
Your tour will parallel the Trail of '98 into Yukon Country so make
certain that your passport or photo ID and birth certificate is with you
as you board your transfer at the cruise pier or hotel.
You will be following the footsteps of 20,000 stampeders who set off to
find the pot at the end of their rainbow after a discovery of gold in
1896.
Unlike the huge movement of prospectors, your group will be small and your
vehicle quite comfortable. Your Ford Excursion will take you and up to 5
others traveling from Skagway on the Alaska side of the coastal mountains
to the quickest route into the Canadian Klondike. Soon you will be
immersed in the glory days of the gold rush and its adventures, as
mentioned in the famous poem by Robert Service called "The Spell of the
Yukon".
You
should have lots of sightings of wildlife. Bear are prevalent here, as are
mountain goats and other critters. When you stop at a magnificent vista,
you will have a panoramic view of 100 miles away that few visitors here
ever see.
As you travel into the Yukon, you will see the crystal lakes Bennett,
Tutshi, and Taglish. You will stop at the small village of Carcross to
visit and perhaps pick up a souvenir or two. As a matter of fact, this
challenging off-road tour will show you the silver mines along with mother
nature at her best.
And, when you least expect it, you will stop and enjoy a gourmet lunch and
a chance to feel the solitude of the north.
